We had turkey sausage with cream sauce again! This time we put the zuchini on skewers with little onions. Everything turned out absolutely scrumptious yet again! The sausages have 170 calories each and the 3 kabobs only have about 50 calories!
We also worked out on Wii Fit last night instead of the EA Active. We found the Wii Fit island track to be a bit more entertaining than the EA Active track. Plus on the Wii Fit version we got to chase a small puppy the whole way. What could be more fun?
On Friday we worked out again. It’s starting to get a little less painful everytime, which is certainly great news!
Also, wanted to take a minute to talk about Del Taco. While the majority of menu item do not fit into a low calorie diet, we were surprised to find that the Original Crunchy Taco only has 130 calories. Can you say awesome?! While I would not recommend dieting exclusively on tacos all day everyday, it is good to know we have some quick lower calorie dining options out there!
Today we went a little over, with the intent to load up before our workout. We certainly accomplished this by heading to our favorite fast food restaurant Wendy’s. Still sticking to the 99 cent menu you can do pretty well. The Deluxe Cheeseburger (w/o Mayo and ketchup), and the regular chili both weigh in at 270 calories. You can also try their grilled chicken snack wrap w/o sauce for 270 calories. Be careful as the regular Crispy Ceasear Snack Wrap had 430 calories each! What a difference!
Well, we weighed in again this week, and it seems like our progress has plateaued. While we’re excited that we’ve been loosing weight without exercising the results just are not the same as they were before. So it’s time to start exercising. We are going to start with just push-ups, sit-ups, and a little indoor running with EA Active. We’ll keep you posted on our progress and any updates to the work outs. Well for a Friday, we both managed to control ourselves yesterday. Not sure what our secret really was, but perhaps it was a bit less drinking than usual. Glad to see we both stayed under 1,200 calories and hope that we can continue such positive results. Let us know how you have fun on Friday’s without burning your diet by posting a comment below!
Just wanted to talk a minute about my daytime eating habits during the work week. I work at least 8 hours a day in an office, and find that I like to graze throughout the day on small snacks, rather than bringing a large lunch or going out to eat. While this not only saves me a substantial amount of money, it also keeps me from gaining a lot of weight. When you’re sitting for most of the day, it’s really hard to justify having a fast food burger and fries. Not only that, I have eaten this for lunch a couple of times, and find myself falling asleep in the afternoon because I am just too full. That said, I have found the following snacks work great for my day. Breakfast= 1 serving of Cheerios or other low calorie cereals without milk. Lunch= 1 serving of carrots and 1 serving of celery (only 50 calories for both!). Afternoon snack= Quaker Rice Quakes. That’s only 290 calories for the whole day and way better than any fast food lunch! We’d love to hear about your diet methods while working in an office. Please share by posting a comment below.
The perfect low calorie snack for working professionals!
Brian took some beef chuck, added carne asada style seasonings, and threw that greatness on the grill! It was definitely tasty and fairly low in calories. We were so excited to eat it that we forgot to take pictures. Oh no! Let us know your favorite low calorie grilling meats by posting a comment below.
Well we learned a valuable lesson this week! It’s a very good idea to weigh in at the same spot every time with your Wii Fit Board. We discovered yesterday’s results were highly inaccurate because we had the Wii board atop additional carpeting. That said, we crunched the numbers to figure out a better estimate of our resting calorie rate, which came to roughly 1,600 calories per day for each of us. We have also decided to reset the calorie scoreboard to reflect the changes.
Nonetheless, we still decided to enjoy our Saturday. Our bad for going over, but we’ll try hard to make up for it this week. Perhaps we should have skipped the Wendy’s but we still weren’t doing too bad with their Junior Cheeseburger Deluxes at 270 calories each, without sauces.
It’s Friday, so we knew we would want to drink. No worries if you plan ahead though! Brian got tons of steps by cleaning the house so he could enjoy his night, and we both decided to have just a few english muffin treats instead of a large dinner.
Also, we decided to do our weekly weigh-in today. We certainly dread it, and were nervous about it all day! Much to our surprise, Brian lost another 15.7 pounds and Lisa lost 7.7 pounds. Even better, Brian anhilated his goal to get back into the normal BMI range. A normal BMI is between 18.5-25, and Brian is now down to 23.8! Meanwhile is Lisa has hit her lowest weight ever! Her goal was to reach 115 pounds (her former best weight), and she is now down to 111 pounds! Enjoy our pictures from Wii-Fit below.
We can’t say enough about the 99 cent menu at Wendy’s. Most of the items have only 260-270 calories if you hold the sauces. You can have anything from a Cheeseburger Deluxe, a Crispy Chicken Sandwich or even a small frosty for 270 calories a piece! Thank you Wendy’s for having a health conscious menu at a great price!

We could not think of a better way to spen Friday night then our favorite mini muffin pizzas! Throw in a little vodka, and we had a fun night! You can check out the recipe by clicking this link: Day 43.
Also thought it would be a good time to weigh in and check our progress. Honestly, I was not expecting to see big results as it has only been one week, but we wanted to be diligent. Man was I surprised when Brian lost 6.4 lbs. and Lisa lost 4.4 lbs! We are certainly excited and are motivated to continue! Check out our progress pictures from Wii Fit below!
