We had some pretty great soup for dinner last night. We measured things so that it could be reproduced. If you make it the exact same way that we did, you end up with a pot of soup that totals 1,333 calories with eight 667 calorie servings.
Bring the following ingredients to a boil in a large pot: 8 cups water, 16 oz ground beef, 3 tbsp minced garlic, 1 serving frozen petite whole onions, 1 tbsp of salt
Reduce the heat to a simmer, and add the following: 8 cubes of beef bouillon, 1 serving of dried lentils, half a serving dried split peas, a serving and a half of frozen green beens, a serving and a half of frozen California veggies mix, 2 tbsp oregano, 1 tbsp dried parsely, 1 tsp celery salt, 1 tsp fresh cracked pepper, and a bay leaf.
Partially cover the pot with the lid and let simmer for at least 45 more minutes.
After 45 minutes, reduce the heat to low and cover the pot entirely with the lid if you desire to cook the soup for longer. Enjoy the soup at any time!
